All students will be required to take three graduate elective courses. Each student will choose one of four program specialization tracks and pick a life sciences elective and an advanced interdisciplinary elective from menus specific to that specialization. Each student will further take one class from a program-wide menu of general electives.
The specialization areas are:
- Bioimage Informatics
- Cellular and Systems Modeling
- Computational Genomics
- Computational Structural Biology
Credit Requirements for Electives
Fulfilling each of the three elective requirements requires taking at least 3 credits/9 units from the appropriate menu. This will normally consist of one class per menu, but in some cases can require multiple classes. Substitutions can be requested in writing to the Advising Committee when a student is unable to find sufficient numbers of allowed classes in a given term to make progress towards the degree.
